vag com download

I've downloaded vag-com 512.4 hex-com I bought a lead ages ago off ebay but i can't get past the port test on com1.

Have i got the right software ? the lead doesn't look expensve but has the right connector for the car and com port.


I tried this with the engine running. I've seen the MRC boys doing it

You don't need the engine running, just the ignition on - I suspect it will be something to do with activesync, phone s/w or something similar hogging your com port.

I run an old P200 laptop for my vag-com - windows 98 and nothing else loaded or running in the background.

Is it a dumb interface - no dongle just a lead - think Ross tech only do the Hex-com+Can now. If it is you might have to use an earlier version - 409.1.

Also test all 4 com ports whilst plugged in and ignition on. You might have to adjust the baud rate(low one such as 1200) aswell. Ross techs website is a good start.

I go with Maxxximus.... spot on ....... undongled mate .... so unactivated ...

Any non genuine Vag-com lead will only work upto version 409. You still need to buy a license to fully unlock this version also.
