What is the truth about stock in the UK?

Post by Bigpockets » Wed Apr 19, 2006 8:30 pm

I was hoping to not loose much money on mine as i have an Avant coming in September.

I was told that there are no more cars physical in the UK, but i have read some threads and people are being offered a choice of colours.

Anyone know the truth ?

When I was looking a few weeks ago I called loads of dealers and was REALLY struggling to find one ... reading some of the posts on here I thought there was quite a few around but the reality didn't seem to live up to it when I was looking. I had to go 300 miles to find mine.

Maybe I just called the wrong places?

The story goes that there are not any cars available at present, next batch due to be built from week 19, which fills the remainder of orders for this year for the saloon. Avant orders commence week 20 with 150 cars, next build date is week 5 of 2007 for right hand drive..........

My ex-dealer spilled quite a bit of info. He said that all but one of their RS4 orders had been cancelled by customers. Whether this is saloons, avants or cabs I do not know.

Interestingly, the last two posts are at odds with each other. I decided to pass on the car because I couldn't have memory on the recaros and the mirrors would not fold (not even manually) but everyone has their own reasons and lots have been stated. However, if production numbers are as low and infrequent as simple1 suggests then I can't imagine that Audi will struggle to sell them.
Maserati GranTurismo GTS Auto, S3 Sportback, TT2 3.2 Roadster, Disco3 for the heavy stuff.

I'm a bit suprised by that! The write ups in all the mags have been great, the buzz is there and there is no clear competition around ie the new M3 is at least a year away and the M5 costs £10-£15k more

M3 delayed til end of '07 I heard. If that's the case the RS4 will be the car to have for at least 12 months?
RS4 B5. Where it all started.
RS6+ Never to be replaced.
Replaced by: 997 Turbo. Didn't like.
Replaced by RS6. I like(d).
Land Rover Defender. Not as nippy.
Back with C6 RS6
And again C7 RS6

Exactly. Whats the alternative for a family man with £50k who wants a car that thrills? :blackrs4:

The alternative is to waste money like I do and run three cars instead. Shame I can't have folding mirrors...oh well.

I'm not surprised that the M3 is delayed but the old one is looking very tired now.
