MAHA Dyno figures question for B5 S4 recent tune revealed

Post by s4orce » Sat Apr 15, 2006 6:41 pm

some decent numbers IMO but wanted to get some other opinions from across the pond. Once I figure out how to post some graphs I will include them. 93 octane ( u.s Octane ) came out to 450bhp/412lbs torque and the 100 octane ( U.S octane ) came out to 496bhp/421lbs TQ. This was on a maha dyno, intake temps @ 50c give or take a few centigrade.

No other audi on this particualr MAHA has made near 500bhp and lived to see the end of the week but then again there haven't been too many stage 3+ cars on this particular dyno either. Another wel tuned stage 3+ ran about 456bhp/400tq on 100 octane.

I would love to se what others are getting on the maha in europe since europe seems to have a number of good tuners. info and feedback is appreciated.

mods list include full stage 3+ ( all the rs4 intake bits, race cats, 2.8 heads, hybrid K04/RS6 turbo's)
Blk 2001 Audi S4, full stage 3+, K04/RS6 hybrids, race cats, vented CF hood,Stasis Brakes and suspension, H-Sports, HRE 540 19x8.5. 450 on 93, 500 on 100 octane.

442 sounds pretty high for a stage 1 chip. are you sure this accurate. most S4's i know with stage 1 chip might put down around 300lbs torque.

Most S4 tuners are quoting 380lb/ft for a stage 1 remap - 300 sounds a bit low, not that far of std??

Yes, and them some. Those figures are wheel figures, mightily impressive. Approx. 560bhp+ crank on equivalent of our optimax. Over 600 with 100 octane(mon+ron/2).

Out of interest who tuned the car? What spec are your K04/RS6 hybrids and how much boost are you running (peak/taper). Daily driver or weekend toy?

Congrats, that car must be stunningly fast.

Guys, MAHA dynos give crank numbers, they do display wheel numbers too, but I'm sure s4rce is talking about crank numbers.

Correct, crank numbers off the MAHA dyno. Not sure how Maha dyno's read over in europe, I would imagine the same as here. 600bhp would be nice but only the blue beast of MTM ( rs4 ) with real K16's and other mods could lay down those type of numbers.

I was trying to get some idea of any S4's in europe putting down numbers on the MAHA's there. I had Sportec code prior to this putting down over 400+hp AT the wheels but that was on a mustang dyno during the dead of winter and this code is much better tuned. we did before and after dyno comparisons and there is no comparison really. The AMS code I am running now is actually RS4 code adapted to work on the S4. It works great right down to flapper control for the rs4 airbox and RS4 instrument cluster so I now have the immobiliser security functionality as well.

I know RS4's in europe are capable of 500+bhp and well into the 460-490lbs tq range but I was asking about what other S4's are putting down on MAHA's in Europe, any idea ?

Iknow Mihnea is working on several, perhaps his own car with similar mods to me, would love to hear the results. I know Mihnea has also tuned several former Sportec rides as well with good success, so Mihnea.. can you answer my question about the MAHA/S4 results ?

which is roughly 325lbs tq, about what I have seen here too for most stage 1 chips.

311.2bhp engine/198.1 wheel/113.1 drag. although there has been alot of discussion about my figures in the tuning/mod forum the car does not feel anything like them figures dictate..so i,m not that worried really..

Hmm, can't comment on the main subject of this thread, but I'm with Nige, a stage 1 B5 S4 should get at least 500Nm peak torque. My stage 2 achieved around 560.
