I think it's just your age David! :shock:

Yes, I thought about short shifter, as well as DTS, boost gauge...the list could be endless... but I'm quite happy to add whatever people want. :thumbs:

DavidT - another thought :

I think it would make sense to put the eventual "Sticky" (calm down now - no more smutty comments please...) in the Registered Users Area, under "Audi S and RS Ownership"? There could then be a link to it in the S4 forum?

Well as it specifically relates to the B5 S4 it would be better surely as a sticky in the s4 forum with perhaps a link in S&RS ownership.

Its a good idea though :D

We can do that, although no actual register information will be on the site so anyone wanting it will still need to fill in the form and have it approved by the owner.

Final thoughts...

Post by CliveH » Fri Apr 14, 2006 10:49 am

Well, as of this morning, we've got 27 people willing to participate, which is a great start - thanks guys.

Just a few more thoughts before we go live (I'm not saying "sticky" again DavidT!) :
  • When assisting prospective owners to verify details of cars for sale, I would envisage confirming details provided by them (rather than the other way around).

    Once established, the database could be used to provide statistics "on demand" - eg what % of S4s on the register have upgraded to K04 turbos?
    This would remove the fun of some of our polls (although I know some of you hate them), but would be a lot quicker and more accurate!

    As time goes by, the register will also serve as a record of the cars as they get sold on, and the seller makes use of the RS4 register...

    Why should you trust me with your data??! :shock: I'm surprised no one has raised this yet, maybe you didn't want to be "rude" :assflash: Seriously, I don't think this should be overlooked in today's sad world of "trust no one". Rather than discuss my personal status in an open forum, I would put forward the following :
    • * we are hopefully all like-minded Audi fans who are passionate about our cars and our investment;

      * the idea has been approved by the Crew, two of whom know me reasonably well;

      * seek a character reference from any of the following forum members who know me (in order of meeting) - dazzer, S2tuner, Doug_S2, ChrisS2, mrditto, NeilMc, grizz, flashyg (maybe that's not a good idea - Gordon's not serious about anything!), DavidT, davidhodgkingson, craigyb, PhilT, shineydave, KayGee, and there's TartanRob, who I've not met yet but we correspond on a regular basis. (I haven't listed those who I've only met once, at the 2005 Donington Xmas bash)
For those of you not heading off for the Easter break, any more thoughts, concerns, or input before we go live?

Yep, fair comment David, lets keep it in the S4 forum, where it really belongs.

Yes, I'll add those Woody. This will limit the "miscellaneous mods" to daft things like RS4 front bumpers...!

It has been suggested that we might add "Manual/Tiptronic" to the Register.

Does anyone have a tiptronic gearbox? I had understood that these were only made for the US market??
