No build week yet-June delivery realistic?

Post by fishface » Thu Apr 13, 2006 7:20 pm

I put a deposit on a 'cancelled' order that could still be specced. I made it clear that the deposit was on the basis that the car would be delivered by 30/6/06. When I asked today I was told that there was no build week yet. Does this still mean the delivery date is feasible?

I put a deposit on mine about 8 weeks ago, with 2 weeks of placing my deposit I got the COMMs number and order confirmation, build week 17.

Ring the dealer and demand a reason.

Its only been a week so far so I'll wait another and then ask him.

My real question is this. If I've only placed a deposit and spec last week can the car really arrive by 30/6/06? Thats a lead time of 10 weeks.
If not why is he wasting my time? I specifically said if the car doesn't arrive by 30/6/06 the deal is off and I don't want the car!

I think he means weeks 28/29.

I dont think build week 22 will be here before June if im correct.

Also build week numbers can differ from actual year weeks.

I had a close look at the M5 today and it just doesnt feel as special as the RS4, just looks pretty bland like a 5-series inside and it isnt a small car either compared to the RS4.

Gilders of Sheffield have a Sprint Blue one due in soon I think.

You must be joking Riz! A M5 in black looks mighty special, and with an extra 100 BHP ( and only a few kilos more) it is in a different league when it comes to power. The downside for me is that it doesn't have 4wd

Well its hard for me to explain... It might look special but doesnt feel it in some aspects, the interior for instance is just alittle bland compared to Audi S & RS interiors, its a bigger car so handling wont be as nimble as the RS4, yes it would out perform the RS4 but the RS4 has quattro.... safer!.

Agree with the quattro! M5 will be a handful in the wet
