I bought my S4 without a factory fitted Cd changer. Previous owner never got one fitted but i did have the cable. Had to root for it behind carpet by rear light. It was cable tied to the chassis and should look like this.

I am 99% sure that if you didn't have a CD-changer when the car was built, you won't have the cable.

It so not too hard to add a cable, but it does take time to fit - maybe 1 or two hours. The worst part of it is trying to remove the B-pillar trim without snapping the lugs (I failed).

However if you also don't have a cage, considering that the damn thing doesn't actually fit there without cutting a hole in the door, why not fit it in the glove box? Running a cable there will be a p-o-p.

I bought mine from Rally959 too. Apart from some issues with communication and the time it takes (it is shipped from the US, but at least they deal with customs), and the fact that my bill was in US dollars so ended up a few quid more than I agreed to on e-bay, the deal was OK, so I think you'd be too.

As far as I can tell you can only get the US models for this sort of price. They work with Euro cars, but there are some issues (occasional gaps in sound and display flicker). One of these days I might look into sorting it, but it doesn't bother me much.

Thanks Paul for the info and pic. I'll get one and sort out the fitting when it's in my hands. I can see your 3 bolts/screws in the picture, they are at the front easy to get to!!!! Mine are a little more awkward to reach than that from what i can see. I'm sure i'll get there in the end :D

Thanks

Duane.

3 bolts/screws in the picture
just unscrew the trim along the bottom of the boot opening and remove. you'll then be able to pull the liner to one side and get to all 5 screws with ease, takes all of 2 minutes
