Not always, I'm on my second set of Kumho tyres, they are really cheap but seem to work well, cetainly better than the Fuldas that were fitted when I bought mine.

Not tried Khumo tyres but like Kaygee iv heard a lot of good stuff about them.
Tried Nankangs once and were pretty scary in the wet - wouldnt try em again.
you get what you pay for - more or less.

I'm running Michelin Pilot Sport Exaltos on my 17" Avus rims, were excellent today in the weather (hail, torrential rain, on M4, M25, A12 + M11).
I wanted Pilot sport 2's but it seems that michelin don't do one in 225/45R17 with an extraload rating.
Can highly recommend micheldever tyres though - www.micheldever.co.uk - good value + loads of stock.

For cheap tyre prices try www.camskill.co.uk, 18" FK452s are £67, Avon ZZ3s are £79. Most are ex stock and ship same or following day.

Please Please Please do not compromise on tyres... you spend all that hard earned cash on performance cars, and then scrimp on the only part that is in contact with the road, surely thats both an crime and a false economy!?
Only my 2p's worth so please dont be offended... Over the last few years the best three sets of tyres that I have experienced are P-Zero's (excellent grip by being soft so they can wear quickly if abused), Dunlop SP Sport (very good, and lasted for ages, although I dont know how they would fair on a non-quattro vehicle, but i suppose that doesnt really apply in this forum!!??); but Michelin have worked wonders with the PS2's as they have incredible all-weather grip yet seem to have a lot of life in them.
I reckon that if you did the maths on £/mile, even though the Michelin are more expensive to buy, with their longevity I bet they would be cheaper in the long run as you would easilly get through three sets of P-Zeros in the same mileage as two sets of PS2's.
What do you reckon, am i talking out of my a***? Have I been fished-in by all the branding on motorsport?
