hmmmm. The video is more like a 8:18 and it's that's a Bridge To Gantry time.

Not sure whether the list is for BTG or full laps.

p.s. The B6 S4 is quotes as only 4 secs slower than the B5 RS4. I find that quite surprising!

p.s. £4.2k for ceramics. Well if they are non-fade and very good performing plus don't need pads or disks replacing for 100k etc then maybe it's not actually too bad.

It sure does Riz. :) There's no getting away from it. And yes, it doesn't matter. A tiny chip will see the time difference narrow.

Interesting, shall we say 3 sets of discs and 6 sets of pads in 100k miles on a B7 RS4 then (absolute minimum for a well used car I would think) ? how much will they cost, anyone know?

That's assuming the ceramics will last that long...

I don't think there's another manufacturer who has got them perfect yet is there ?

Those times are impressive - B7 just a second or so slower than a Gallardo. Still puzzled there is over 25 seconds between B5 and B7 - is that correct?

I think the B7 time was done on 'track-type' tyres - that'll give it perhaps 10 seconds around the ring...

A B5 with sorted suspension, brakes and stage 1 would be pretty close methinks...

Fair enough...so there's maybe 15 seconds difference.

I count more like about 8:25 on this video
http://www.8200rpm.com/forum/read.php?f ... 41&t=16841
puts it about the same as stock B5 RS4, which seems about right.

Now this car also doesn't look like a stock B7 RS4 to me.. lowered and cup tyres maybe? Seems like 7:58 would not be with stock car.

seems like they were Pirelli P Corsa tires, blue car still also looks lowered to me
http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/show ... adid=35288

or R tires..
http://germancarzone.com/showthread.php?t=313

So + 10 sec for track tyres and + another 10 sec for suspension tweaks, bit of trickery I think

Would be good to get a time for a 'stock' car.

all you have to do is look at the timer on the video player its an 8 . 20 for sure

Both the B5 and B7 have similar performance. Stock.
B7 is a better car.
B7 is more modern and deals with brakes and suspension better.
Both under-steer maybe the B7 more than The B5

I love both. Lets keep it real. Great car very Audi.
