S2 meet report

Post by Greg_S » Fri Apr 11, 2003 2:43 pm

Finally got a chance to write a quick report.

Was a bit of a last minute arrangement but we had a good turnout, was arranged thru the S2 Central group on smartgroups so was manily S2's and we had phil come along in his S6, (with 19" RS6 alloys fitted to it) they are huge with rubber band tyres, quite a sight to see and also a guy from tyresmoke in his S4.

We all met up at dunstable downs on the sunday, picked the right day for it and it was sunshine all the way, so all had shades out and windows down. nice to hear the engine even more when ur driving.

Conversation ran from cars to women and back again over the couple of hours we were there, Paul N bought along a couple of his Home Brew Chipped ECU's for us to try but forgot his side cutters so we had to make do with going out for a qucik blast with him in his S2. And was a definte improvement on standard on the seat o pants indicator.

Just waiting for the last few developments on them before they will be on sale. Also had to admire makrs S2, who is a trackday sort of guy and has had alot of work done on his with big movit's up front and a special conversion on the back using A3 front discs and A8 calipers!

then we headed off into dunstable to get some food and saw a new Lamborghini Murciolago, its road presence is astonishing. u see a big yellow shape gliding along the ground then the air intakes. Certainly not what we were expecting to see on the downs!

Once at the pub we had a quick meal, with cheeseburgers being the main choice! lol and headed off our seperate ways.
Half of us going for a bit of a detour upto Paul N's to drop Alp's car off for some major work on repairing it all, and having a little bit of fun with all those dual carriageways and roundabouts that we all love about milton Keynes!
