It is a tricky one that's for sure...

space can be amde under the bonnet by moving things like batteries, ABS systems etc.. just depends on how much trouble they want to go to.

I can't see the engine being anything but V8.. the S4 is V8 so why would they use anything else??

Time will tell... I guess we all have a period of suspense in before us until things become clearer. Definitely, it will a quite a car, that's sure.

Enjoy your current cars for now

From what I know, at least 3 reasons speak against this scenario:
- Audi had to modify the 4.2 V8 to fit it in the S4 for space reasons. How could two intercoolers find place on top?
- Audi burnt down a dozen of RS6 because of tricky head dissipation issues - how could this be controlled in an even smaller body?
- First S4 arrive at dealers this month - wyh would Audi cannibalize the S4 by introducing a sports version based on the same engine and with more power one year later?

Don't want to spoil the fun, but doesn't sound realistic

yes, good points...time will tell

i know nothing from engines and stuff, but it should be possible, maybe that's the reason for those smaller turbo's?
and besides, don't understimate the power of cosworth

well, that's not that abnormal. first audi left quite some room for the new RS4, the S4 is more a comfortable highspeed executive cruiser, an autobahn-racer....
and secondly, it's the same like the difference between to the porsche turbo and the GT2, the GT2 is extremer, sportier, uncomprimising, they aren't canibalizing each other either, because they are aiming on another public

but, like i said, time will bring all the answers

Owkay, i've read the article till the end now (only read the RS4/RS3 part) and it even says that the both cars will be shown at IAA Frankfurt this year
Yes, it's hard to believe, but say it's true then I think, as the ultimate audi RS-audi site, we should make a european meeting of that event....just a thought

PS. the article mentioned also some things about the New TT, it will grow a bit and will be based on the A4 cabrio...there is also an S version coming with the V8 out the S4 looks like this car will have potential too

Cheers Mmmmmmmm definately alot of rumors about..... im thinking that if quattro GmbH were`nt thinking about a RS3 will maybe change their minds now, just purely due to demand!

Yep that could well happen..... but a official car would be better (especially for me) at the end of the day doesnt matter how much you tune a S3, it`s still a S3 etc.
Im keeping my options open at this very early stage, RS3 will be my next car to aim for, but if there isnt one then maybe the S3. who knows??
