quattro GmbH limiter.

Post by Riz_RS4 » Sat Mar 25, 2006 1:11 am

Regarding the actual speed limit of 155 mph on RS 4 vehicles, we are planning to rise the limit up to 174 mph (280km/h). This modification will only be done upon special request and can be ordered as an option with the new vehicle. The upcharge has not been specified yet but is expected to be around EURO 2.000.

Testing of modified vehicles in view of tyre specification, drive train, engine software etc. is in progress and will be finalised by the end of May 2006. Due to the actual schedule, the option is supposed to be released in calendar week 22 to 24.

We are sorry that we cannot provide the 174 speed limit at the the time your vehicle will be produced. Nevertheless, retrofitting of the option will be possible. A retrofit kit will be available through your dealer/importer or directly from quattro GmbH.

Please do not hesitate to contact me again if you should have any further questions.

That will be an essential option then. Couldn't possibly live without it on my drive to work each morning :FIREdevil:

Riz - where does the quote come from - with the amount of delay the RS4 has received its a little unbelievable the car has really not been fullly tested up to 175mph by know- whats next they have just realized that the engine can rev another 250rpm, maybe another mod for that - all sounds very un audi like- unless they are just preparing us for the ..........RS4 plus!!!.. ... which if announced my other half will lose it with me.. and I will be very upset with Audi after just shelling out 56K on the RS4 due on my driveway in two weeks time.

The B5 does 175. I am sure the B7 will do the same. It was the one thing I didn't test on the B7 when in Germany. There are not many opportunities to do so and its bloody dangerous.

Riz - Why are you so keen to do 174 miles per hour? Remember you can always tell your mates it will do 200, they'll never know. And then hey, you might even stay alive to enjoy it.
RS4 B5. Where it all started.
RS6+ Never to be replaced.
Replaced by: 997 Turbo. Didn't like.
Replaced by RS6. I like(d).
Land Rover Defender. Not as nippy.
Back with C6 RS6
And again C7 RS6

Its information which I have asked for from quattro GmbH directly, also asked a few other questions about my RS4 order etc

It seems a bit strange when ABT offer this upgrade already... perhaps quattro GmbH will just add the ABT upgrade on their options lists?

I also hope quattro GmbH dont produce a RS4+ after also spending 55k on the RS4 which is due by the end of June. Earlier than expected.
