I actually really like the Focus ST and thought about buying one for a everyday car. Then moding the crap out of the TT so i could just keep it for the track.....That was until i drove the RS4. Wet myself and ordered one :D

There are some interesting comments in the Autocar "B Road Baftas" supplement this week where they compare 12 cars including the RS4 and Focus ST. In the end the ST (3rd place) beats the RS4 (4th place) in their opinion, because in the real world they conclude that the RS4 is only faster if you're prepared to drive irresponsibly, and that in terms of driver feel and interaction the focus is a markedly superior drive.

Food for thought anyway, and if I was in the market for a small-ish 4 door car I'd definitely take one for a spin without dismissing it out of hand.

Why would I want to go for a Ford ASBO over the RS4?

Sometimes it's not all about the drive and how much you can thrape the beast in-between speed cameras..... it's that amazing sensation when you've filled up, paid and returning to that beast-bitch sat there waiting for you on the forecourt... or that time when you turn up to a wedding in some posh country manor, the engine rumbling in low bass as you crunch through the gravel and men stare at the beast parking up. Man, I can't wait!!!! Where the hell's mine, it was due to be due to be delivered in April!!!
