*Update*

Spoke to DVLA today... still not done. They MAY do it tomorrow then post it tomorrow night - which means the dealer MAY get the plates for Wed/Thursday. My cover note from Tesco still has not arrived - and so even if they had the plates they would not be able to tax the bloody car! What a nightmare... when does it end! I have never been so moody or frustrated before!! GRRR

Patience....absence makes the heart grow fonder.

But it is painfully aggravating when some drongo pen-pusher "powers vested in me" type delays you getting your hands on the car.

if the dealer know the new reg number why cant they fill in the paper work and tax it with there dealer policy..its a simple bit of logic, maybe u shud ask em..no tell them thats what u want..or better still get them to fax the dvla and get them to send the tax direct..im sure this can be done quicker than its taking..soon be the pod day and ya dnt wanna miss it... :rocker:

That is the problem... they dont know the new reg yet - that is the main hold up is DVLA. The sales guy lied to me and said it takes 5 working days to sort out... truth is DVLA take 10 working days.

I am 13k out of pocket wtihout a car and paying for a rental car... not a happy bunny!

Well, according to the DVLA the documents will be in the post this evening and so all being well I could have the car tomorrow evening. Watch this space - I am just waiting for the next bit of drama!

you deffo need to claim back your hire car expenses, all this should have been sorted befor it was even put up for sale. why should you foot the bill for their error and the no joke of driving a "MICRA" if they snub you then get on to TRADING STANDARDS, soon as they here those words they won't be able to do enough for you. its worked for me in the past when i had a dispute but over a different matter.
