RS4 (B5) Standing Quarter times.

Post by Bigpockets » Mon Mar 20, 2006 9:43 pm

I ran my Stock RS4 at Santa pod this weekend and only managed 14.5 Seconds.

Any one else ever recorded a time ?

I have run my last 2 cars.

BMW M3 : 14.00
Subaru STI WRC Spec 350 : 12.9

I thought it would be faster than the M3.

Just intersted to know as a work collegue went in his Evo 8 and blitzed me, after i told him it would be a good match.

If you're only managing 14 in an M3 you may want to work your your launch. I ran my 535d against an M3 and I got 13.8 and he got 13.7.... (actually, that makes you not too far off, but 0.3s is a long time on the strip!). My RS4 is considerably quicker than my 535d, so I'm surprised... wait till after next weekend for some up to date figures I guess!

You should look at 12.5 on a standard RS4

The RS4 60ft was 1.8 seconds so the launch seemed ok.

The M3 was SMG 2 and it did not like the starts so i can see that.

Maybe it was me i would love to see a video of another stock rs4 if anyone has any footage.

Please.

Simon, I think that's slow mate - get a health check ASAP if i were you. I don't know what an RS4 should do, but stock RS2s run low 13s with idiots onboard when all is working well. I would have expected an RS4 to be at least as fast, and probably faster since it has an extra 65 bhp and not much extra weight.

I used to run an EVO 5 with 360bhp. it would eat my chipped S4. Most of these evos have over 300bhp standard and 340ish is easy with just increased boost and exhaust.

the rs2 has a much quicker 0-60 ft and the weight is a big advantage.

stock rs4 should do mid 13's

yeah, i know the RS2 is best at 0-60ft....... its better than pretty much anything else ever built off the line (0-30mph is an alarmingly brief 1.5sec). However, it gallops rather than surges once you get to 70mph, so i think (and your numbers would agree with it) that a stock RS2 and stock RS4 would be similar on a 1/4mile. It sounds like Simon's is over a second down, which suggests it has a problem.
