Odd - they couldn't match last years Elephant premium when I contacted them a week or so ago. I've since had my Elephant renewal come through and it is less than last year. Not a typo - yes less than last year.

Hi DaveP ... I've finally got through to Elephant to make a minor change to the policy and told them casually that my other half is "between jobs".
The bast**ds want to add £ 66 to the policy because she present a higher risk.
They say that she has greater access to the car. What....nothing has changed, I drive the car every day and she sometimes will drive the car at weekends or the evenings, so the fact she hasn't got a job means nothing to them.
Anyway, I complained and stated that I'd been a customer for 6 years and that this is in fact "discrimination" (against the unemployed) - they have now agreed to write off the increased premium.
I was getting ready to go the European Court of Human Rights...... deep breaths.....right, ok, calming down now.

I spoke with Dean and he came up with a price 1/3 less than I'm currently paying. I then asked what the stated exclusions were. It was the normal racing, track days, speed testing etc.
We then had a discussion about the 'ring at which point he went away and checked. He came back to say I wouldn't be covered but when pressed I don't think they've excluded it. He kept referring to the exclusion of "racing of any description" clause or 'anything of that nature'. If I had one of these policies and needed to claim I reckon I may have to go to court but I don't believe it's actually excluded since driving around the 'ring is non-competitive. He did conceed it was a grey area.
The last time I asked that question I got the 'ring explicitly included in my policy!!
