What is Audi's problem

Post by simple1 » Sat Mar 11, 2006 9:52 pm

Attended local dealers RS4 launch 'party' today, no wine or cheese, not even the offer of a coffee and didnt stay two minutes when I found out that the car was for static display only......... Audi had recorded the miles, not even staff were allowed to drive it.......... it belongs to the press office... total *wats, what is the point of inviting people to come see a car they cant drive... get a grip guys! :audibash: :audibash:
I was also informed that I would have my car before the dealer got their demo car, I feel a call to MK coming on........ never drove a B5 until I took delivery of mine, not doing that again!!!! :boots: :boots: :boots:

They really have no clue about marketing or PR do they?

I can understand them not wanting to take out a 17 year old chav who just handbraked into the car park in his Nova 1.3SR, but anyone serious should obviously have a drive!

If its a dealer demonstrator then you'll def get a drive. I believe that the press office cars are not to be driven by the 'common' public, just reserved for journo's like Clarkson.

Yes and dealers also have to wait for their demo cars to turn up, apparently there are only 20 demo cars touring the UK. My local dealer wont have their demo RS4 until June!!!

I was offered a test drive by both of my 2 local dealers who are running RS4 demonstrators. It was parked out on the forecourt today ready to go when I arrived to pick up my new Sportback. Since I can't afford one and didn't really have time to do it justice I declined. Plus I really don't want to like it too much until I'm in a realistic position to buy one :bash: It would only lead to tears

I got to look at and sit in the car on Feb 24th and drove it on Mar 4th for over 1 hour! Never stepped in the dealership before in my life.

Hello all,

Wearside Audi and Tyne side Audi both have demo's to drive!!

Had taken my A4 in for a warranty repair (silver strip under boot lid bubbling up of all things  ) and was offered a drive from the guy that sold me my A4, think he wanted to be out in it as much as me mind  .

Fantastic car mind.............. however got back into my 3.0TDI after and still really enjoyed it, make's it look really good value for money!!

Think i'll wait a year and get the B7 RS4 instead of getting the B5 RS4 this year............

Anyway all the best gents
Cheers

Paul

Simon,
I'm amazed you got such a luke warm response from them, especially given your previous purchases.

My dealer told me their demo car is due (they may have it far all I know) and that I could have a test drive any time once it arrived.
Maybe your dealer was a bit slow off the mark getting their order in

So, what spec have you gone for ? :bigblink:

Was pretty much the same at Preston Audi mate...received the card invite, popped in yesterday to see a misano saloon in the showroom...

There was a couple of bottles of wine, and some tubes of pringles...wasn't offered either.

Seeing the car in the flesh again didn't really stir the emotions either...apart from the brakes, which look decent this time, the car didn't make me gawp - I still don't think it looks special enough.

Sorry, I sound like a right misery when talking about the new RS4...I'll shut up now!

EV60 is right, tyneside audi have a demo car available now to drive, they also held a similar evening with champers and canopes with dolly birds handing them out all night.....Give them there do's, they know how to do things right. never had any problems with them in the last 4yrs and they have always loooked after me very well..I would recommend them to anyone.

Black with cloth interior, black optics, tech pack, sunroof, GSM phone in dash, centre arm rest, heated seats and auto dip mirror.
Dealer is usually spot on but seems to have slipped up this time. They only serviced the B5 this week too, as it was a small bill maybe they thought I did not deserve a cuppa :piss:

I attended the evening at wearside Audi on the Wednesday, Tyneside was on the Tuesday!! Same at wearside tho, champers and canopes and some very nice women handing them out!!

Wearside Audi have also been very good to me, giving me an S4 when my car goes in on wed  !! Would recommend them also, but then they are part of the same group.......

TarmacTerrorist, was the RS4 at Tyneside Black? The one at Wearside was Spirit Blue......
Cheers
