COMM number

Post by Bradders » Fri Mar 03, 2006 11:51 am

Hi All,

OK, so I have my COMM number now (012092). The car has been showing on the dealer computer as "production complete - awaiting shipping" for nearly 3 weeks now. Car was ordered in June 05.

Is anyone able to help me get further information using the COMM number?

Really would like to see the car sometime this year!!!!!!

Cheers, Mark

Mark,

Dont hold me to it; but I would almost gurantee your car has moved on, in the process; just the system has not been updated.

MattC, after abit more advice in regards to my car.

I managed to find a dealer with one RS4 allocation left with September delivery, placed down the deposit and gave them my spec I want.
Didnt hear anything for about a week and then managed to get them to fax a order form to me to sign.

Recently added the RS4 floor mats to my order, asked about build dates but they said its too early at the moment and they will keep me informed.

Is there anyway I can verify my order with Audi UK to make sure all is in order?

Cheers.

Riz :)

Riz,

There is a big difference between your dealership taking a deposit to hold the allocation spot, or hold that place for you; compared to the dealer actually placing an order with Audi. All the dealers place orders with Audi on a system called Dialog, assuming the dealer has allocation the system will allow a physical order to be placed; once the order is placed a COMM number will be issued. The COMM number is means of tracking the order through the entire process. Top Draw order for cars like RS4 / RS6 don’t always immediately show build weeks, this is added as the build schedule is created at the plant. It’s hard to judge if your dealer is honest, could I ask who the dealer is; and then I could make a fair judgment.

Judge on the following:

Have then taken a 10% deposit (Y/N)
Have then asked you to confirm your spec on an official order sheet and sign your life away Y/N

I would ask your dealer for a COMM number which may confuse them because it’s only helpful to people with access to Dialog; it also depends what build schedule then have made the allocation from.

Sorry I can’t offer a more precise answer.

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the info. Something very strange happening here - I will have to get back in touch with the dealer. Mine is Mugello blue, sports suspension, tech pack and a few other bits and bobs. I was given a build week of 6. Very strange indeed. Also not my name!!! I will get back in touch with the dealer tomorrow to find out more. Not a happy bunny as you can imagine.

Thanks for all your help. Will post more info tomorrow when I get hold of the dealer.

Cheers, Mark

Matt,

Have been to the dealer today, with the following report shown below - got a printout. Differs totally from the one you pulled back. Still, they have no shipping date, but as you can see, the car is complete.

Any ideas how to find out why it's not been shipped yet? Confirmed with the dealer that it's been at this stage for 3 weeks now.

Cheers, Mark

Hi Mark,

The COMM report I listed was only an example; not yours, so don’t worry about the name. Your COMM report looks good but I am really puzzled why a week 6 car is still not in the UK. The picture of the car I added to a thread a few days ago was a week 7 car.

I will do some digging for you, I can imagine its very frustrating, once it ships it really wont take long, they fly though the docks out to dealers.

Would adding Sports Suspension Plus cause a delay in production by any chance?

Hi Matt,

Thanks - oops for not reading your post clearly! If you can find any info I would be very greatful. Dealer is as puzzled as you and I are. He's had week 8 cars arrive this week, but they were not RS4's, and he's also waiting on another that is also showing production completed. Very strange indeed. Have fired a request to Audi customer services, but have only received the auto responder so far.

Cheers, Mark

Well had a word with my dealership and they assure me my car has been ordered and that the forms were faxed to Audi Hq.... they are going to find out why its not been taken off the system and have a comm`s number assigned to me.

I have expressed that I dont want to be let down if somebody else has messed up... would like the car for September 1st delivery!

I will be most annoyed if they have ordered a car when they dont have the allocation! I asked before handing my deposit over if they had a allocation for this year, they said yes last car for september and then they are sold out.

Araaaagh.

Riz,

After our telephone chat, this concerns me, your dealership does not need to FAX (an 80`s device) Audi UK, the entire process is completed on Dialog the Audi order process and management system.

You are being fed total crap; if they had allocation then they could simply place the order on Dialog; in the same amount of time it took to type this mail.

If you dont get an answer in the morning, please give me another call.

Matt
