Oil usage

Post by johnny11 » Thu Jan 24, 2019 6:11 pm

Had the car for 5 months and done around 3k miles, not sure if anyone can answer this but the image shows my current oil level, any idea how much oil I’ve used or how much I need to top up?

A litre will almost get you to the top.

Cheers,

Do you get yours from the dealers?

Just check the level again fresh, on a flat surface;

Open and close bonnet,
Turn on engine but do not start
Go into oil level and it will say it will be displayed in 2 minutes.

No need to go to the dealer, but are you on annual or longlife servicing as the oil is different I believe.

Longlife is spec VW 504 00, fixed VW 502 00, normally 5w 30.

Pretty sure the dealer puts the same oil (504) in now regardless of service regime.
