Yes that's true. Seem to be pretty bullet proof boxes though. I must have launched mine between 50-75 times in my ownership, on one event, 19 times over an afternoon
I had a TTRS a few years back and used to attend drag racing events frequently, kept all my time slips and when I added up just the 1/4m runs from drag day events over the 2yrs, I had 205 launches on the box. That's not taking into consideration how much on road stuff I done testing 60/100 between standard and stages of tunes etc. There must have been over 300 launches on it when I got rid of it and it never missed a beat for me.
Good old German engineering. I'm sure the ZF boxes can take it too (over the short term anyway) Wouldn't fancy buying a 5yr old+ car that had been abused like that.
And yes the TTS is king, always has been, it's just a perfect setup. Engine over the rears, pdk, turbo and relatively lightweight in comparison to its competitors.
