You don't. You have to press the button on the fob to lock regardless.
Eh?? No doodle. You can lock the car keyless by touching the square touch pad on the outside handle on any of the four doors.

New RS6 PE Spec and other Questions

Weren't we talking about any car and not just keyless or have I lost the plot?

Still, I'd avoid keyless now. Too easily defeated.

I find it a bit annoying when it sits in your pocket sort of getting in the way.
You know that whichever option you pick there is no slot for a key on the C7? Keyless entry means you don't need to press the button on the keyfob to lock or unlock the doors. Beyond that both options are pretty much the same and are keyless start so key will be in your pocket whichever option you chose.
How do you lock it without pressing the button?
Doodle you answered to this question. And they were talking about C7. You've had too many tonight so it's time to get your head down.

Aye, but that was in response to an either option item!

Still, you can't lock it with a dead whore under each arm.

You press the lock button on the door handle.

Edit; just realised there was another page and this has been discussed already. But yes doodle, I said that with keyless entry you don't need to press the button on key fob to lock or unlock and j66cko asked how you lock without pressing the button.

Bit late to this thread but I had a similar dilemma to the OP and am also coming out of a B8 RS4. I ordered a PE and expect to take delivery in September, in the end I opted for DRC but didn't go for the dynamic pack as I didn't want the steering.

I had a full day in a car with dynamic via my dealer and managed to swindle a short test in an air car from an indie, the upshot was that the air car rode better but it was pretty marginal, whereas the pitch and roll on the 'air' car was more evident. How the car behaves on a track is irrelevant to me (this is our family estate) but the DRC car just inspired a little more confidence and felt more controlled through corners and roundabouts, in day to day driving I think it would make little difference but once you start pressing on it would be DRC every time for me and this is a car you're going to have some fun with when conditions and mood allow. However, dynamic steering remains a mystery to me, dynamic mode simply adds weight and in any setting I find it lifeless (as with my RS4), the normal steer was hardly 911 like but was a wee bit more communicative so I decided just to opt for DRC and put the saving elsewhere.

Good luck with your decision and let us know what you decide on.

Surely the PE edtion is exactly that? More hardcore than a standard one?

Why would audi even give you the option not to spec DRC etc?

It should be a hardcore model imo.

The PE is a run out to boost flagging sales, a few more BHP, but hardcore? It's a 2 tonne estate and aimed squarely at people who have deep pockets, need the space but want some fun on the side.

People should buy what they want without fear of, frankly, arrogant bullying and having to view 'dick swinging' lists of ludicrous aftermarket modifications.

I'm sorry, but this place is starting to resemble Sniff Petrol's "Ask A Total Prick From An Internet Forum"!

I've had quite enough of reading about people ruining their cars by fitting spacers and lowering the suspension.

Probably so Audi can still charge you for it on the options list!

I know what you mean but there are some really useful tips and insights here, it's worth putting up with the odd 'over enthusiastic' owner to access that information IMHO, stick with it.

Possibly the most ridiculous thing I've read on here for quite a while. Unless you were joking?!?

DPP includes...

Ceramic brakes - great, but the pros and cons have been discussed here many times. Personally I think they are a lot of money to spend for something that gives a significant benefit only in a limited number of circumstances. The cons for daily use outweigh the pros IMO.

DRC - agree, a must have, I have no idea why it isn't standard on the PE like he Sports exhaust. As Ian says probably just so Audi can charge for it.

Dynamic steering - the worst idea ever to come out of GMBH. Slow, dim-witted and kills any feel in the car.

189mph de-restricted - pointless unless you spend a lot of time on the Autobahns and/or willy waving at VMAX.

So, do tell, why is a PE a waste of time without the pack?!? Add DRC for a grand and you have an equal (some may argue, better) PE than a PE with DPP, plus you're(SIC) getting £10k back in your pocket...
