If you want a mega spec car, but a ex-demo, then you get your options for free

As others have said get the car. Don't waste too much on the options. B&O stereo !! nah the standard is good. I went for a standard rs6 with pan and black kit and that's about it. Sepang blue and wham bam thank you - its great- get out and drive. Cut down on the options and you will be much better off. is a great car.

I totally agree the issue is I've done that in the past and within less than two months regretted it and ended up getting rid of the car early because it didn't have everything I wanted on it.
You could always spend a few quid on therapy to offset your potential loss! Only joking mate, but most options are frippery, if I think back to my favourites over my driving life it's the drive I remember and not whether it had hill hold assist.
Haha, well said. My 205 doesn't even have electric mirrors! Just manual manual levers. Electric would add weight!

The Bose might be OK, against the £6k for the B&O but the B&O is something else - I'm so glad I have it.

It all depends on how you use your car mine is used as part family taxi and daily work horse and I've done 20k in 8 months.

however, for me I do value the TV, B&O, 360 camera, adaptive cruise, adaptive headlights (or whatever the term for them is) and the blind spot assist. I use all these options daily and value them greatly in making my journeys enjoyable and comfortable.

Yes I do understand the 'extras' make the car a nicer place to be but If my budget was limited to a more modest spec I was highlighting that its better to get the RS6 within the budget then not to get it at all becasue of the B&O Adapcruise etc. Mine is a basic spec with a few extra and cost into the low £70's So for the OP with I think a wish list over £100k and him saying its too much I wont get the car - drop the 'nice to have options' and still get the RS6 within the budget. Its such a lovely car with or without the extras. :)

I would love to have gone for the carbon B & O but then it would have pushed the RS6 out of my budget. Its a seriously lovely car with or without many of the expensive options.

Have you actually been able to place an order? It's closing or closed so you may find you're limited anyway.

Nice spec, but a depreciation special.
Looking to order this week - got a very good price from local dealer via Car Wow. For £103K car - the balloon after 4 years is £37K so assume the worse and accept 70K drop, not sure I can stomach that much of a loss.

As highlighted and not teaching anyone to suck eggs but you dont need to spend £103k to still have a great RS6 The depreciation will be much lower with the lower starting point due to the options.

i appreciate what you saying and it's what i said previously it depends on what you want from the car - for me knowing i would be spending a lot of time in it having those extras was pivotal to the whole ownership experience.

The other option to minimise the cost of depreciation is to remove some of the options. A PE with 10k of options is still a great car and can probably be had for about 80k. If the 103k price tag makes it too unbearable I'd rather have a PE with less spec than not have one at all.
Totally agree, while some options help a car to sell they rarely impact on residuals. My lowly RS6PE listed at £93k and around £78k after discount, if it's worth £35k trade after 3 years I will have done ok.
Agreed. Am I right in saying options make no difference to the gfv? With the possible exception of pan roof? So if you finance it and add £10k options, that's £300 extra a month just for the options (over three years), and if you hand the car back at the end, you don't get a penny back

Edit. Probably more than £300 month when you factor in interest
Anyone?

This. Although of course if you are buying using Audi finance rather than putting your hand in your pocket, the saving will be reduced (over buying new) by the fact you will pay a higher interest rate.

Edit. I'm not talking about the finance discount (sorry, contribution) on buying new - I cannot imagine there is anyone who doesn't take this nowadays? - I mean the APR on your finance

Options have no impact on the RS6 GFV.

With the new TT, A4 and Q7 they are now factored in. A Q7 on standard 20's has the same monthly cost as a Q7 on optional 21's, due to the higher GFV with 21's.

On a 3yr term it's roughly £30 for every £1k in/out of a deal.

So you could have an S3 for the same monthly cost as £10k of options on an RS6! Over three years. Hilarious

You wouldn't get a S3. But most certainly a S-line A3. My Mrs A3 tdi is £348 per month.

I've gone back to the dealer and given him a challenge in terms of what I want to pay and the monthly payments - I'll let you know. Oracle Finance seems to always offer better balloons but you don't have the option of giving it back with them
