Hi. Yes so I put the RS6 up for sale and put a deposit down on a new RRS. 13 week delivery. Started doing a bit of research and it turns out there is facelift coming very soon.

Looking to have the same console as the new Velar which is very very nice. Had deposit returned and will await the new facelift.

Bought a 13 plate golf diesel for the wife until new car arrives. Actually very nice car to drive and does about 650 miles to the tank ImageImageImage

The facelift for the FFRR is with no surprise delayed as was hoped to be ready for MY18 which would mean production from around Oct/Nov this year, however it's now expected the Facelift won't appear until Spring 2018 at the earliest & i'd be fairly sure the same will apply to the RRS.

As for the Infotainment, i'd not hold out much hope that the newest InControl Duo Touch Pro will not be without significant issues, as the current newest on the FFRR & RRS, that being InControl Touch Pro is utter <beep> & as doodle says, i chucked my FFRR A/B back at Land Rover last month due to this. Any feature controlled by the Infotainment system would either not start, fail during a journey, throw up some very odd behaviour or at best was just slow. My list had 13 issues & JLR confirmed that 9 of these were known & they hoped a major software update due in Aug/Sept would resolve them. Bear in mind my car was built in Dec 16 & collected March 17 so was delivered below standard & JLR knew this. I know of several FFRR's, F-Pace's & F-Types that have been rejected over the last few weeks.

I should point out re-reading Kev's post, i've no idea if the MY release dates are the same for RRS as FFRR. If they are then see above, if not then could be earlier for the RRS.

I was thinking about an RRS AB a while back and thought it might be worth waiting for the new tech on the MY18 as I know from bitter, personal experience how poor the existing in car infotainment system is. While I cogitated I waited for the two dealers I had been in contact with to get in touch, emails and phone calls went ignored on a few occasions and during all this my local Audi dealer offered me a day in the RS6PE, deal done.

If JLR could sort out their in car tech and shake up the Land Rover dealers then I'd be prepared to reconsider some day, they are (with the exception of Stafford) the worst I have yet to encounter, a crying shame considering they have so much potential and they're British (sort of). To add insult, I was surveyed by them a few months ago and told them I had opted for an Audi due to the difficulty experienced with their dealer sales people, I expected some sort of response but to date nothing.

i bought a MY17 RRS for the mrs. i hate the damn thing, wish id kept the Cayenne as it was such a more complete car.

However, not really had many issues with the infotainment. i can count on 1 hand the number of times its been slow but normally it pairs to my phone without a problem.

Dealership service is dreadful, went it there friday and kicked off as a warning light came on and they accused my wife of lying about it. I expressed my disapproval loudly whilst stood in the middle of the customer waiting area for new sales and service.... seems they will be giving me something of a good will gesture but i wait and see what that is.

My advice, buy a cayenne, superbly made cars, with the 4.2v8 diesel they are dynamically superb, plus there arent such a common site as RRS/FFRS with better residuals.

Really after the 7 seats. RRS have a 7 seat option.

The Velar is just a F-Pace in a pretty frock. Same powertrains, same chassis, same underpinnings, same everything apart from the body panels, interior and the ridiculous pricetag.

Oh come on, as much as I like the SQ7, even you must admit that's a statement too far. ;)

TBH I would take the new Q7 in a minute but my wife now hates Audi Edinburgh with a passion after a very bad experience with a jumped up service bitch.

Had the SQ7 for a day on test and honestly couldn't justify the extra 25k over the diesel.

The hunt goes on, new X5 coming out soon, new Cayanne coming out and facelift RRS. Anyway RS6 is away so pretty much needing a bigger car soon. Hopefully a decent SUV

I bought a GLE63 Performance Pack in the end.

Nothing like the RS6PE but I am enjoying it. I have the other toys for outright speed.

No, ignoring the £85k 'First Edition, Air Suspension is only standard on the top P380 engine in HSE guise, every other engines (even on HSE!) it's an option. Plus, even on the P380 HSE you still have to tick paid option boxes for Terrain Response 2, All Terrain Progress Control, Configurable Dynamics and the Active Rear Locking Differential!

Velar pricing is a joke. In a way I doff my cap to JLR for taking an F-Pace, putting a different body on it, and successfully charging 30-40% more on the price tag by selling a brand/image!

Setting aside my total dislike for anything connected to JLR currently, i have to agree with Kev that the Velar pricing is comical at best & a total piss take at worst. The First Edition at £85k is FFRR Vogue money, so how anyone could justify spending the same on a model from the range 2 down from the FFRR is beyond me. That said, must be plenty who do as spotted a First Edition for sale at £15k over list yesterday (£100k for a Q5 equivalent).

Whilst the Velar is far more pleasing on the eye than the F-Pace, it's in no way worth the £20k+ premium like for like, but it will no doubt sell well as everything JLR currently appears to. God only knows how many InControl Duo Touch Pro's will fail though given they've not yet fixed the previous incarnation.
