Hi,

I would drive down to Sytner and speak to someone, Tell them whilst the recall is being done you would like the PCV valve changed. Make it clear that you will be covering the extra labour and part cost. The valve has to be removed as far as I know to be able to complete recall. Might cost you around £500 inc parts required seals etc and small amount of labour. If the valve goes later then expect to pay £1500 to have it changed.

If no joy speak to service manager. I wouldn't take no for an answer. Say you will call Audi UK and speak to them.

Good Luck.

Cheers Amjd, I'd pretty much came to the same conclusion but that confirms what I thought in terms of additional costs etc. I'll go and have a chat with them.

How much is the part separately and where's the best place to order from?

Hi,

I've sent you a image of the invoice, this includes all the required parts.

I didn't mess around and all the items where from Sytner.

Just a quick follow up on my car. Audi UK have confirmed a recall but apparantley it doesn't cover my car. It only applies to a handful of RS6 & RS7 with the oil strainers made by a certain manufacturer, which doesnt make sense. So now after a week of diagnostics Audi have requested the spark plugs be changed as they were due so no issue there, but they are no stating it could be the fuel injectors. What are the chances of 4 fuel injectors all failing at the same time? Problem being its an engine out job to change them so thats about 4K in labour alone + whatever parts costs.
Looks like I will be massively out of pocket at the end of this.
Unbelieveably I have received the recall letter yesterday, my car has been off the road for 8 weeks now. No idea how Audi are going to do this as they cant just change the parts & get the car going again. I have logged an official complaint with Audi Uk & the ombudsman, so will see what Audi they have to say when they can be bothered to get in touch.
Audi have to the worst I have ever dealt with.
Just a follow up, my vehicle has been into Audi for the recall work. Both turbos are damaged beyond repair due to the blocked strainers. New turbos have been ordered but they are on backorder with no delivery date. Audi haven't even bothered to offer a courtesy vehicle
So I have been without my car for 4 months & now possibley another god knows how long until it is fixed.
Just a further update I have managed to get a car out of Audi, after going mental at the customer complaints at Audi UK, it is from a hire company not the dealer. A nice Skoda Octavia Hybrid. My car is still in bits as the new turbos are now not due until the end of September. God knows what state my car will be in when i get it back as i have not laid eyes on it since May 18th.
I will be asking for the PCV to be checked following from the comments on here.

At last 👍 Oil strainer recall done. Luckily my old oil strainer had virtually no damage so no major issue on going for the turbos😁😁 I did purchase the PCV valve myself and had that changed at the same time. All done within 8hrs including re calibrating the adaptive cruise. Time frame has come down now due to the Audi techs have done so many they are becoming quite good and quick at the job 👍👍

So mine went in for this - came back to me missing about 350bhp - feels like it’s making zero boost and the EPD light comes on.

Dealer has had the car a week - under boost fault code showing - but apparently they can’t work out why or what they have done.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Also - did they need to do an oil service as part of this work? Mine was about due for one so I asked for them to do that while they had it - for which they have charged me £283!

Seems that some people are having real issues with this recall and engine parts related to it, others have been lucky or had decent technicians.

All other issues aside with mine, I did not pay for a oil change. Sytner changed it and logged a service on the database.

Think you should question the oil change and state others have had it changed as part of the Recall. This branch comes across as incompetent reading from your initial post.

As for the boost issues, sorry cannot think of a reason why. Hope you get it sorted.

Mine was done as part of the recall. The service rep had to check first and nearly charged me, but then realised the error ofher ways!

Thanks chaps - I shall be asking for a refund of the £250 once they have figured out how they have broken my car

Just to update they have no had the car for 10 days - still not fixed.
They are about to strip down the turbos - so lets see.

My guess is that something, possibly a bit of the screen, has got into the feed pipe when they did the replacement and lunched the turbos.

Garage just called - one of the turbo's is done and they will be replacing it as they recognise that it's failure was caused by the work undertaken by the recall....

Mine's been in over a week now and I had a video message on Friday showing a basic health check (all good) but also showing my air filter completely blocked with dirt/leaves and both of my intake hoses were split the whole width of the hoses! No wonder it felt down on power.

They also tried to say I needed plugs, pollen filter, dif oil change etc etc but they were all done before Christmas.

Chasing them now to find out when I'll have my car back as a 1.4 A3 ain't cutting it. :drink:
