I hear you about the Range Rover. Ive heard so many horror stories but I do like the look of those cars. Saying that, I could also consider an older style AMg e63 but not sure I would be able to find a low mileage Rs6 for around 30k

The exige will be purely a toy for me...IM not the smallest guy either but I think I could just about fit..Ultimately the wife will murder me if i buy a motorbike so exile is the next best thing i think
Get the bike and go for exile ;)

I've always fancied an SL63 as they are rare beasties and sound half decent

I have a C7 Rs6 for general day to day and family driving, then an S1 Elise with a supercharged Honda in it for track days - it’s a good combo. The RS6 will do everything you want it to (Mine is a pre-face life 64 plate that I've had since new) the supercharged rocket keeps you honest and with your skills up with its lack of any driver aids.
Remember an Exige is just and Elise with other bits on it. You can have an effective Exige by bolting those bits onto an Elise. Don't jump into a mega powered (lotus) analogue car unless you're a driving god (I thought I was, I was wrong). Step it up with your skills.

An exige vs a two tonne plus barge, let me think about that for a minute

There aren’t many things that give as much back as a lotus - the RS6 will become boring, the exige an event every time you drive it ....although I’ve not had mine out since end of October!

My V6 has the big supercharger bolted on so somewhere between a 410 and 430 with the suspension set up with a relatively aggressive geo, which you won’t want on the road. I pretty much only track mine as I’m lucky to have a daily sports car too.

Whilst we are in strange times at the minute, lotuses do tend to hold their value pretty well and been very lucky with the previous two I sold.

just to be clear my original dilemma was actually whether i should buy a C7 RS6 now or waiting another year or so until the price of the C8 drops

Looks like we are going to be in a major recession so the second hand car market will no doubt crash.

Thats when I started thinking about a new RS6 or a toy + a practical car

Done lots of research on the Exige and it really is just a toy but buying a semi decent one in a years time for around 40k will leave a decent budget for the practical car whether it be an older Rs6 or some kind of AMG....Range rovers (as much as I love the look of them) have pretty much been ruled out due to reliability concerns

I don’t think you will get a 410 exige for £40k!

think your prob right....If I'm lucky they will be around 50k in a year but saying that I would be perfectly happy with a sport 350 as well

Agreed start with that and go from there!

You can then either upgrade the car you have or just buy a 410

Now it’s a good time to buy a car if you have some free moneys) as a prices definitely dropping down, but I would go for amg gt 63 s or f90 m5 competition

Prices have a LONG long way to go. Now definitely a bad time to be buying any asset.
