Re: Front brake pads
I have Ferodo DS2500 on mine. No pad wear sensors. They seem to work very well. The first brake needs a little longer to stop but after that I think thru feel better than oem. I can't give a direct comparison as I had steel hoses fitted and new Motul RBF660 fluid go in at the same time and there was a bit of air in it so felt terrible to start with until the air made its way out.

Re: Front brake pads
Thanks Mike. Where did you get them? Prices etc?
I have big 410mm rotors but the pads are TRW and I did not bed them in. The horrible noises etc have gone but vibrations are horrific and the discs seem to have continual residue on them.

I was looking at some 410mm discs. Which ones do you have? What do you think of them?
I got the pads online somewhere. I'll check my emails later for prices and which website it was.

Re: Front brake pads
Thanks Mike. I got from eBay, 153140572267.
The kit is really good and the power is there (just <beep> pads). A doddle to fit, 1hr in total for both sides...

If it is these, I assume you went for the disc only option using the original calipers?
I've been speaking to the guy about prices for replacement discs using the same bells for next time around, and the rears too.
I can't find the actual invoice, just the confirmation email so I can see it was from JDL Brakes. I bought the brake lines and fluid from here too.
This is the link to the pads:

Currently showing as €283.94 (not sure if that is meant to be euro or pound but not much difference I guess).
Re: Front brake pads
Got any photos of them fitted?
Re: Front brake pads
Like Mike, I installed Ferodo DS-2500 pads and find them very good indeed. Again, like Mike, at the same time I installed braided lines and new Motul RBF 660 fluid and the transformation was like night and day for me. My brake fluid had gotten pretty bad and found the brake pedal going away from me pretty quickly before the change but now I have a lovely firm pedal feel that lasts and lasts.
As I had managed to warp one of my front discs prior to doing the work, I also installed the VAGbremtechnic/AP Racing 2 piece discs which again aided to the braking feel if not the overall performance. At least now I can attack the brakes hard without worrying about warping the OEM discs (which is a common problem).

Re: Front brake pads

You can see the brake pad residue on the disc surface...
