I think the outside edge is a bigger issue than calipers in this instance. Running the equivalent of 15mm spacers in the front is quite a lot to stick out and even if it doesn't rub (which it probsbly will if lowered) it might stick out too much from a visual point of view, 15mm spacers on the front is too much for me. Also if you use narrower tyres as shown above you will increase the gap between the tyre and the arch which has the effect of looking like you've raided the suspension meaning an even greater need to lower than before.

Genuine C7 RS6 20x9.5j et21 wheels with tyres

Post by FaisalJ » Tue Jan 24, 2017 12:30 am

Mike, you're forgetting that the centreline of the wheel is only 8mm further out. The wheel is a half inch wider than OEM too, hence the face of the wheel 14mm further out, but the inside of the wheel is only 2mm further out...so the tyre gets stretched a bit.

This is 19x9.5, effective ET20, on 255/35/19 tyres. No rubbing up front at all, but it did rub at the back right corner.

Meh...regardless.

They're just cool wheels which are overpriced. Sets with worn OEM tyres have previously sold for around £500.

I am happy to measure the inner face.

SurreySam, I have seen no sets for £500 with tyres, even if they're worn. Without getting into an argument, I think you have no right to suggest they're overpriced, considering what genuine oem wheels tend to sell in general.

I don't think I've ever seen a set of OEM 20" wheels go for £500, even without tyres that'd be a bargain.

Is it possible to get a pic of the hub face. The depth I'm interested in. I have found somewhere who can take off a few mm

Dean is this for a B8? I've seen them before on a B8 so don't think there is a issue with fitment.

Yes Mike. I'm not comfortable with 11mm following a measure up

Give me a day or two and I will provide the necessary measurements for people.

Regarding value of these - if it helps - I bought a set of 4 alloys with new tyres from dealer off a delivery mileage car (owner went aftermarket from new) for £1600 delivered.
Perhaps I was lucky.
They are great wheels - forged, strong and amazingly light for an OE wheel.

Here's the steel (i.e. non-ceramic) caliper measurements for the B8 which I tend to use when buying alloys...
Caliper clearance RS4 B8.JPG
My current summer alloys are a similar 20 x 10 ET20 fitted 265/30 R20 though I DID experience rubbing at rear under load and during spirited cornering. This was overcome by introducing a -2 degree camber which is, apparently, the maximum negative adjustment. I haven't notice any significant uneven tyre wear as a result. They are nice & flush.
