Radiator Fan does not stop running

Over the last couple of days, after an easy drive back home from work I realise once I shut the engine off, the radiator fan will still run for a couple of minutes before shutting off on its own? Anyone has a similar experience?

Mine always does that maybe for a minute after I switch the ignition off, I assumed it was normal

I noticed that last week (not driven since I have been in forced isolation) for the first time. Could just be where it is a few degrees warmer.

The newer ones all do that as the turbos are now in the middle of the engines,so run warmer.

Mine does that and sometimes it stops and then starts up again. Can’t say I’ve ever been worried

I had the same issue as you mentioned with the radiator fan still running after a drive,that was away back at Christmas and when it did this I noticed it was unusual as it had never done it before.
Then come mid February while driving about 10miles from home a message came up on the dash saying not to exceed 6000rpm.
Then water temp increased as well as the oil temp.
To cut a long story short, it ended up being the thermostat causing the issue, I also got the water pump replaced also at the same time as the stat, no problems now and no radiator fan running after car switched off.
This may be the start of the same issue that turned out for me.

I hope not as had the Stat replaced last year.

The above was exactly what happened to me, motorway speeds or spirited driving it would be fine. A or B Roads (especially following) it was heat up.

Yea unfortunately that was the issue regarding mines.
Motorway driving at Christmas is when I noticed the fan staying on after switch off.
I mentioned it in another section on here and it was yourself that replied bud.
Anyway all fixed now, and since it has I’m lucky if I’ve driven 50miles since.
It’s never been as clean now due to this lock down

Same here! Lately i am always noticing the fan noise! Loud and on almost all the time. I feel like the fan is over working itself! And one of u mentioned a warning fault "not to reach 6000 rpm", i got that too for 2 mins then it went a way!
I wonder what the problem is and if the fan and that fault are connected?!

Get it scanned when you can, sound exactly like mine which was thermostat sticking.

Just got a call from Audi, its a thermostat problem; needs replacement.

Seems quite a common Audi fault, mother in law and pals A3 have also had them.
