Post by DSM » Sat Jul 22, 2017 7:38 pm

Hi , hope someone can help . If you've Had this system fitted? I just have . But not to happy with the Very loud noise I" know that sounds silly to say " But I mean loud VERY LOUD ! Almost can't hear your self think in there , with Valves open . I have had Miltek before and this doesn't sound like one they would make . Please tell me if this is normal. I have got Silencers on order, just undriveable at the moment
I drive in comfort at the moment and that sounds ok ?? But as soon as you reach 3500 revs it opens Vales and nasty sound again.
Thanks for any advice

Yes Brand new ,and have talked to Miltek and the installer. Trouble is, it's hard determining it is wrong with out a system on another car next to it !

Switch your non-res centre pipes for res pipes, that should quieter things down a bit.
Im sure if you search DeanoC posts in the B8 section (now sold) he had something similiar iirc

Unfortunately it sounds normal!!

I've got the non-res on mine, it's great for blasting around, but can get a bit tiresome on a long journey with the wife and kids. I'm also thinking about res pipes or swapping for a JC Weldfab...

Hi Dave,

how are you getting on with the Miltek now you have the additional silencer fitted? Did it get rid of the 'drone' that starts when the valves open?

We have just got back from carfest and the trip with the nonres system was a pain with the family. I found myself constantly trying to drive around the drone as best I could. My problem is that when I'm on my own I love the sound and I've had a few people comment at track days that it's the best sounding car there!!

So, I'm thinking of getting the additional silencer and swapping out for family days to make it a bit quieter on long runs!

Would you recommend the centre silencer/resonator?

cheers
