Exhaust options on DRC menu

Post by Twiglet » Tue Jan 20, 2015 2:41 pm

Hi All

Please be gentle as this is my first post. Picked up my new to me RS4 at the weekend. Its a 2013 model in Sepang Blue with Sport Pack and V Spokes and Tech pack. We tried a demo car at our local dealer and noticed that ours hasnt got a separate option to turn the sports exhaust on or off. Mine has the sport pack and the exhaust not changes when you select Dynamic in the engine options but not indepentend exhaust option which was at the bottom of the list on the demo car. Is there a software upgrade?

Cheers

I think this might be a facelift vs pre-facelift difference.

Correct, it came in with the model year facelift
However, if you select engine dynamic in individual, you should activate the louder exhaust option
When you start the car, it'll always be in the 'valves closed' position, but will open and stay open once you hit the gear stick to S rather than the default d, and should remain open when you return it to D
Hope that makes sense

Although this is not consistent either..... Mine is a face-lift and I have to change the driver mode out of and back into Individual to retain valves open (Dynamic). It's with Audi at the end of the month for some other bits and pieces and I have asked them to get a definitive answer...

Mines facelift, I've been messing today trying this out as per the other thread about this issue.

In individual with exhaust set to dynamic it's still not as loud as when you select S in the gearbox as everyone suggests.

Mine though seems to close valves when D is selected though I'm sure.

Mine is the same, all a bit confusing as I have it set to dynamic but the note changes when I switch to sport and I had thought that it would be loud at all times under that setting. It then seems to quieten again when I go back to D.

The biggest is about a half, sometimes .5

It depends on the factory the car was built in.
It's all torque talk.

In all seriousness, electric boot closer as standard & a couple of other things, but they were priced in rather than the car being a higher spec for the same £
It's all torque talk.
