Boot lid
Boot lid
Has anyone else had issue with the boot lid not going up high enough when you open it? It stops sort of 2/3rds from fully open. If I reset it with the button it sorts itself out. Until the next time...
Thing is, my wife's Q5 did exactly the same.

Re: Boot lid
Isn't there still a lever in the hinge which stops the tailgate at 2/3rds height unless you push it hard to go right up? Or is that the reset button you mean? I recall seeing it on/in the right hand boot hinge on my Avant when cleaning the shuts

Re: Boot lid
I was told on the Q5 to press and hold the boot shut button, and it reset the open/close. I've not pushed it up any further, will have a look for a lever, but it doesn't seem right as conversely it really slams shut when you press the button to close. As if it's out of sync....?

Re: Boot lid
My S4 is old school compared to a Q5 with power tailgate auto opening. From memory there's a notch in the right hand boot hinge which you can stick a screwdriver in to change between full height and partial height

Re: Boot lid
Hi mate
Mine also does that. Started a few months back and not every time. Now it's lot luck whether the boot will open at all when I pull the leaver. I can hear the mechanism working but some times it does not release.
When it does open it opens 2/3rds of the way the as you say slams shut. Have heard that a new boot opening system cost £800
