Check what it is, but apparently it's pretty common.
Reset it with VCDS (as long as it's not something serious)

Have you or anyone messed around with the washer jets for the Headlights?

As there is a crash sensor with that, if its not in correctly that can cause a airbag fault.

What ever happens it will need to be reset.

Thanks Trups....I've only had the car for a month and never messed with them. The car does get washed regularly, I'll check it out tomorrow morning, thanks....
Does anyone have a VCDS I could borrow....?

Hi, you maybe able to reset the airbag light with a cheap cable from ebay. I'm not sure what airbag module you have on the RS6, but my S4 had the dreaded '65535' error that I couldn't reset with a VCDS cable so I got this and it worked fine.

It won't work for the 6 fella. Best you scan the car with VCDS to see what's what. You don't want to mess about with airbag faults.
Too much power is barely enough.

Plugged in the VCDS cable last night and tried to clear the airbag fault but it kept coming back......did some research on the net and it could be a faulty connector/loose connection. Some of the guys that have experienced the fault have removed the connector and spliced the wires... with success and the fault cleared. I need to remove the back seat to get at the connector and check it out.....just to need to figure how to remove the seats.....

On a positive note... I now have VIM..... :bigblink:

Update, did some searching on the net and it appears that the connector in the rear for the airbag can cause the airbag light to stay on ( could not re-set with the VCDS) Removed the rear seat, located connector, not a lot to play with. Cut the connector and spliced the wires together.......put the seats back, plugged in VCDS and reset fault.....success...!

Nice one!
Yes common prob on early C6's. Think they redesigned the connector on later ones.
Some have fixed it by just using electrical contact cleaner.
