Alternator

So, it seems that a bearing has gone in my alternator.

I have bought a new alternator.

Has anyone changed the alternator? Any write-ups hints or tips...?

Can't find much info some say it's a front end strip but this thread viewtopic.php?f=47&t=126708&p=866305&hi ... or#p866305 doesn't.

Oki, cheers. The thread you linked to was just for the tendioner and belt, not the alternator itself? Or..?

Ah, yes - sorry. I was concentrating more on the diagram. Other web searches imply that there's a fair amount of stripping required to get access to some of the fittings.

Bumper/undertray off. Headlights out. Pull the front out into “service position”. This gives access to the belt/tensioner and alternator. About a 4hr job in total.
Note that oil / coolant must be drained.

It is a pig to try and do with the radiators in the service position, book says to remove the rads
