Rain sensor and hence auto closing windows - possible?
Rain sensor and hence auto closing windows - possible?
Have a B7 RS4, with rain sensor.
There seems to be a configuration (+04) under Channel 020 of Module 09 which should allow you to have auto closing of windows (and sunroof) when rain is sensed.
1. Is this correct?
2. Does it matter that i don't have a sunroof?
3. Given the default code is +02 (for rain sensing enabled), then the new code needs to be 6 (02 + 04)??
4. It won't take it - gives 'ERROR' when i try either 4 or 6.
5. Do i need to login to this controller (surely not?)
6. If so, what's the login...?
Sorry rather a lot of questions!
Thanks

I've tried coding that - and even though it accepted the coding, it doesn't work (I have rain sensor and sunroof).

Hmmm, thanks. Did you have to 'login' or did you just enter the code?

Thanks - so any experts able to help with
(a) why mine won't accept the code (maybe it's finger trouble so advice welcome..)
(b) why the functionality fails to work?

(a) Maybe because you don't have a sunroof?
(b) If you look at the coding for the Comfort System (46) it can be coded to make the sunroof open with the key or remote - neither of these work either. It's as if Audi sometimes include a coding but fail to implement to code!

Spoken to Audi who asked me to get dealer to raise a 'DISS' - some sort of 'fault/enquiry report'.
Dealer advises that this setting can't be enabled. However, no real explanation aside a possibly rater weak excuse that you can't enable it as cars sold in the USA would raise too much litigation risk. Thought that was precisely why we had region encoding in the CAN BUS, but obviously i must be wrong...
Be really good to hear from an expert on this!

Not supported by the B7 architecture.

Ah, thanks Sebastian. Glad to see someone actually knows what they're talking about!
