Todays scan results

Post by Philws4 » Sat Aug 25, 2007 11:03 am

Did a full scan this morning and got this!

17862 EGT SENSOR 1 SHORT TO GROUND
P1454-35-10

17521 OXYGEN SENSOR B1 S1
INTERNAL RESISTANCE TOO HIGH
P1113-35-10

17539 OXYGEN SENSOR B2 S1
INTERNAL RESISTANCE TOO HIGH
P1131-35-10

Any ideas bearing in mind that both oxygen sensors where replaced in May this year and i have only covered 1100 miles since!
However the sensors are NOT OEM and are made by a company called MTE- THOMSON and where sorced from GSF.

Car drives fine with no apparant lose in power.

Any help as always greatly received.

Always use original Bosch or Audi-supplied Bosch sensors on B5 S4s and you'll stay out of trouble ;) These codes are generally triggered by inferior quality aftermarket sensors...

HTH,

Mihnea

PS: your EGT sensor is definitely dead, get that changed ;)

Cheers Mihnea for that i will contact GSF and see what they can do for me regarding replacing/reimbursing with OEM O2 sensors and get a new EGT ordered.

Had a result with GSF, they will credit me for the pair of sensors that i bought from them in May, and i have just ordered a new Bosch sensor from ECP which i should have by Wed/Thur this week.

Gonna put the new one on the N/S and have already put the 'old' original (Cause there was no fault code raised with this one back in May when the problem started) back in on the O/S.

Got to source a new EGT now, still at least it is the (G235) O/S that is knackered,so a POP to replace. :)
