Clutch Pedal Switch (F36)

Post by neily » Mon Aug 06, 2007 7:17 pm

Ok Guys...

Just done my weekly VAGCOM check and got this error message from the Engine module....

Can anyone translate this into (basic) English please ? (I have not noticed any issues with the clutch or gearbox..)

You do a weekly vagcom check?!!

I figure clutch pedal switch failed. Not uncommon on VAG cars I believe. Only a few pounds to replace. Unless you have cruise I doubt it has any relevence.

yeah Graham - just call me Mr Paranoid.........

I do have cruise but haven't tried this recently. Does this mean that cruise is currently fooked until I replace the switch ??

Don't know to be honest. I am actualy working from information I got from APS when they retro fitted cruise to our MKIV Golf. The clutch switch had an intermittent fault which they advised me of. They didn't seem too concerned and said it was very common hence they stocked them. I asked to be changed anyway as it was literally a few quid only and minutes to fit.

I assume cruise either fails or doesn't work 100% as I note on VAG cars cruise disengages when you dip the clutch.
