Max boost presure exceeded, so may now be in limp mode. Normaly happens if you get a boost leak.

Is the car still not running right then?

Jimbo, have you got the numerical code - probably a boost leak as mentioned (check all those hoses) or even a duff n75 valve ?

Had exactly the same thing. Ended up being a duff DV. Good luck

Yeah, I replaced both of these as well when I had that code, if you need the part numbers for the 710N's (AUDI TT BOSCH Diverter Valves)then they are:

06A 145 710N

You may as well do both, £15.54+vat each from www.vagparts.com or £35.76 for both delivered to your door. I believe the stealer prices are around £20 each. Worth getting and doing if youve still got the original 6yr+ 710A's IMO

Thanks for all the input.

The car has recently had a substantial amount of work done on it including new turbo's, clutch f hose and TBB(both samco) as well as an endless list of other parts I also fitted Forge DV's recently , are these known to have any problems? It was also pressure tested and showed no leaks at the time which begs the question , how often should you pressure test for leaks?

Thanks

If you've had loads of work done, could it be that something wasn't quite tight enough and has worked loose? If so, probably a question of re-tracing your footsteps.

Pressure test every 5k with oil change is recommended. The more boost you run, the higher the risk of a leak.

I'd take it back to where the work was done for a healthcheck.

I used to get this every 3 months or so with my previous AMD chipped S4. I had a theory it was related to the forge piston type DVs but never got round to changing them.

Even if its not the DVs - I think the piston type DVs are rubbish - well at least mine were. You could really feel the boost lag between gear shifts. Of course it could have been a boost leak!!

Max charge pressure exceeded is normally BPV related if you're lucky (or a boost leak if you're unlucky)
