VAG-Com Newbie 17547 code query

Post by onlinesys » Sun Mar 08, 2009 11:10 am

Emission warning light on (intermittent)

40 days ago, clear code.
30 days ago, oil change, spark plugs change, oil/air filter change
14 days ago, emission warning light on again and 3 days later gone!
Today back on again. VAG-Com cable connected:

P1139 Long Term Fuel Trim Add.Fuel,Bank2 System too Rich 17547
(intermittent)

Code cleared!

Any clue?? MAF, o2 sensor??
The car seems not as smooth as usual if the Emission light is on??!!

Thanks for your help in advance

The exact wordings from the VAG-Com :

17547 - Fuel Trim: Bank 2 (Add): System too Rich
P1139 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - Intermittent

Thanks again for your insight

Can't shed any light on that code, but when the Check Engine light is on the SW goes into a default mode so the engine won't run as well as usual.

Thanks Contigo! i did do a search and reckon it is most likely MAF related.
since it is intermittent, I do think if the MAF is dirty and might try to clean it. However, my garage told me the MAF on the RS6 is not cleanable????!!

Is it true?

Just used a generic code reade connected to the OBD II connector and got this message.

PO160 02 sensor CKT no activity, Bank 2 Sensor 2

Any suggestion on where is the source of problem?
