Sorted. Disconnected the batt and cleared all dtc's. seems to have cured the issue even after a drive. If it comes back then i'll post up again.

Well, a good bit of driving done since the reset and so far so good. No more fault codes. Must have been an oddity!

Last time i had a car in with this it was down to a "iffy" remap . Removed the "iffy" remap and replaced it with a custom-code phase 1 map & all was fine .

If it pops up again mate i'll give you a buzz. Ive seen that its mainly an issue with the APR maps. how much for the CC phase 1?

If the code goes away, there's nothing to worry about, it's not down to an "iffy" remap, and MTM are definitely not people who do "iffy" remaps.

hey eddie, that "check sum error" is the ecu telling you its in need of an upgrade - preferably factory. go by the dealer and see whats involved. dont know how you guys work there, but in SA (im at the dealer) we flash the ecu with an overwrite from the factory

Your suggestion is correct for the newer TFSI ECU's, but NOT for an RS6 vinny, sorry to correct you.

Mine has updated software anyway. But as S2 said, its not an RS6 issue.

Still no return of the DTC so im guessing that its all cured. Worth a try if you are ever confronted with the code.
