If you have a vag-com, it's dead easy.
Connect to address 17, instrument cluster. Click on adaptation (10), select channel 02 and change whatever value is in there to 0. click "save" and confirm then that's it.

uhhhhh, there probably is another way but I don't know it.... I'm sure you can find someone with vag-com not too far away from you though...

You can do it from the dash board - i think it goes like this: ignition off, press and hold the second button (the one on the right) protruding from your gauge display, then turn the ignition key to the penultimate position (i.e. everything on but the engine) then the service indicator message will display in the DIS, wait till this disappears then release button, then turn key all the way off. When you next start the car the service indicator should be totally re-set.....

-Press and hold the button on the left side of the display while turning the ignition on
-Service OIL will be displayed
-Pull out the button on the right side of the display until the service prompt is gone
-The display should read ---

Possibly Ol! 8) It's in the manual anyway, surprisingly enough it's under "resetting the service interval" in the index! Who'd've thought it eh?

Right, Just had to reset my 98 S4. It goes like this...... Ignition off , Press Right button, Turn ignition on, Pull out the left botton, this will reset the OIL service, To reset the inspection you need to press the right one again untill INSP apears, Then pull the left button again, Turn ignition off, Turn on again and hey presto DONE
