clutch issues...
24000 km, slight difficulty in engaging 1st gear, bite point on engagement of drive is high up ??
Yes, clutch on the way out ?
Options: 1. replacement with OEM; 2. JHM lightened flywheel/performance clutch plate; 3. Sachs kit; 4. Stasis upgrade.
Discsussion please regarding best option for me.
Cheers

Wouldnt necessarily assume it is on its way out especially with the low ish mileage. I have these symptoms you describe also but they dont worry me. there are so many variables but the best way to tell is to test if you are getting any clutch slippage?
Certainly not unheard off for it to fail so early but fingers crossed for you.

clutch
Ok, Occasionally finding it difficult to engage 1st gear ?
Would that be the clutch plate not coming off the fly wheel for 1st to engage ?
spongy, woolly feel - 1st time on cold start, then after 20 km or so, feel cam back.
This sounds like slave cyclinder ?
Thoughts
I am thinking of bleeding the clutch fluid and investigating...
before new clutch to be put in....

RE: clutch
hmmm I would say that its the split pipe, the more you use it there damage it will cause, shattered clutch and damaged fly wheel most likely.
If it gets to the point where you cant not crash the gears, turn the engine off, engage gear, turn engine on and let the car drive in that gear, only to be used in an emergency, happened to me last year in France off all places.

Re: RE: clutch
Sounds like what I had with mine. I could get it to do it 'on demand' when driving hard and could even feel it building up to it. Basically I'd be doing a bit of 'spirited' driving and then when I went to change gear the pedal would stay on the floor. 1-3 seconds later there would be an almighty bang, and the thing would start working again properly. This went on over a period of a few months, with the car going back in to the garage to have parts changed. Still never got the bottom of what caused it, but it was fixed by putting a new clutch in.mrozard wrote:i also have had clutch problems, apon driving the car hard the other day i lost the clutch travel. it was ver low. funny thing is i could still change gear and it did not slip? i pulled it up with with the top of my foot and it worked as normall. then epc light flashed??
