What to log?

Post by Mike159 » Wed Apr 01, 2009 1:11 pm

Can anyone help me out with suggesting what can be logged and checked with vagcom. Im new to the B7 so im not sure what there is to check its healthy or not.

Can airflow be done in the same way as on the B5, or a FATS run?

Going to get it on the laptop tonight and dont know what I need to look for or expect

Absolutely.

Run a fault scan.

Same procedure.

Then, just scroll through the fields in <Engine>, <Measuring Blocks> and choose what you want to log.

My guess is, that if you're down on power, start with airflow and timing.

But before you worry, save yourself some effort and before you start logging, put some good juice in there, run it for long enough for the long-term adaptation to kick in...

Just out of interest, what is the "long term adaptation"
