My stereo turns it's self back on when I take the key out!!!
Hi Guys,
Been away on holiday for a couple of weeks and so just jumped back in the motor this morning. Got to work and pulled the key out, as normal the stereo/MMI turned it's self off and bleeped to show disconection of the blue tooth. Then only a couple of seconds later the music came back on! I put the key in again, turn the ignition on and then off again but it still was on so just pushed the button to turn it off.
On my way home turned it on again and everything worked fine, listen to a bit of music on the SD card slot but again when I got home it did the same thing!!
Anyone else had this before? Any Ideas?? PetrolDave need your help mate!!!
cheers
Jim

RE: My stereo turns it
Although i've come across other types of odd behavior from time to time i've never had this!
I'm guessing you haven't used vag-com etc since this started so coding etc should be the same? - its the only thing i can think of
Try running a scan with vagcom and see if it throws anything up.

RE: My stereo turns it
it did go in for DRC before I went away and in honesty i've only driven it 2 miles from the dealer until today but don't recall it doing it when I got back. Will pop down in the morning and get them to check it out I think.

Before I had this problem if I had turned the music down or muted it for what ever reason when I'd get back in it would always be on again, not very loud but loud enough. I know you can change the settings but like you guys say it would nice if it did what ever it what last left at.

When you turn the iginition back on it does 2 things:
1) the radio goes back to the state it was when you turned the ignition off
2) the volume is reset to a "standard" level, so if you had muted it it will be back on, and if you were listening to it loud it will be quieter - that's just how Audi have decided to make it work
