When was the car actually built?

On the specification sheet on the first page of the service manual, does it indicate the actual build date amongst all the colour codes, options fitted etc - just curious.

Or is there a data base of chassis numbers somewhere with build dates?

You can look it up if you have an online connection with a certain dealer parts programme.
If you PM me your chassis no. I can get you all your build info for you.

VIN position 10 denotes the year of production (with a "7" being 2007). As Glyn says you can get full details from the chassis number and I presume the program works out the build month from this using the last 6 digits which is the serial production number.
