BNS engine vs. CFS engine

Post by Juniorrs4b7 » Tue Dec 15, 2020 6:21 pm

Hello to everybody,

the timing chain guide broke on my RS4 B7 with a BNS engine, all the metal fragments were in the oil while the vehicle was driving. The vehicle has a mileage of 230,000 km and has always been properly serviced.
The vehicle showed no signs of failure, no knocking, bad distribution sound at start-up, no loss of power (there was 426 Ps on the engine brake). Shortly after the oil change, after about 500km, the oil was very dark, so I took off the oil pan and found this.
Does anyone have experience with replacing the engine with the CFS model?

I would like to use the CFS engine only short engine block, (block, crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons - 079 103 023 S ) Everything else would be from the BNS engine (cylinder heads, intake and so on).

Have any of you solved this case?

Many thanks Jakub
