Jack stand position

If I jack up the rear of the car to remove a wheel, where is the best place to place a jack stand? The pinch welds are too deep, and obviously the jacking point will have the trolley jack under it.

I would place it under the suspension arm nearest to the inside bolt of the chassis or if you put the jack under the diff you can jack up both back wheels at the same time
I would never put a stand under the jacking point

There is a nice picture online somewhere showing all the jacking / support positions.

I put them under the wishbones - there was a fairly obvious point once the car was jacked up & the wheel gone. It was fine and very stable there for a week when I had my wheels re-furbished.

I found a place, just infront of the rear wheel but further in near the centre of the car. Dunno what it was, but it was black steel with a hole in it and it was solid and flat, so it seemed to make sense.
