Do you have one for the passenger seat to?

I personally am very wary about fitting a device on the seatbelts. Given that the belts are designed to be used in conjunction with explosive pre-tensioners and a loose belt then I'd be worried that with the belt already held taught you are going to be putting more force through it than it was expecting.
The only testing shown on the CG lock site has been at 20 and 35 mph - pointless given that any track incident will happy and multiples of this speed in addition to a potential roll over scenario.
Every serious accident I've seen on track has not been a single isolated incident but general a series of separate discrete impacts and without this kind of testing I wouldn't want to fit one and potentially compromise safety.

It's also an interesting comparison between normal 3 point belts and harnesses - 3 point belts are design for generally low speed single collisions and stretch a huge amount to reduce the forces on the users. It's why pre-tensioners are essential on modern belts. Harnesses however are designed to keep the occupants in the car at all costs and because of this the webbing/weave of the belts is different with minimal stretching designed in. Ironically you are more likely to be injured wearing harnesses (collar bone is common) as they don't reduce the forces on the occupants like a 3 pointer but less likely to be ejected from the car even after multiple impacts.

Its only the lap belt that is tight, the shoulder strap is lose as it would, so it still has movement. I understand where you are coming from, as I was in (and still am) in two minds.

ah, ok so thats not too bad. Ironically I've seen people on track fixing this into the shoulder strap pulling the whole thing tight which always did worry me.
I don't have many problems moving about in the buckets - pretty snug for me.
Be tempted with the scroth quick fit belts - just working out how to fix the mounting point on the right side as the reason it's not compatible with the b6/b7 platform is that there isn't a discrete mounting point for the belt but rather it's built into the seat (which suggests the seat mounting points should be strong enough).
Be nice to use the bucket shoulder cutouts rather than just for show ;)

I now have a two seater Saloon

Removed rear seats and boot contents out today.

In the Saloon the seats act as a sound deadening. All I can say is, what a racket the noise is!

The exhaust burble is great on lift off though ;)

Iv not had a chance to weight them yet, but I reckon I have saved about 25kg/30kg.

Ok just had a weight in. Total amount 39.3kg (87.9lb)

Rear bench (bottom) 5.5kg
Back seat right side 18 kg
Back seat left side 7.8kg
Boot contents and seat belt brackets 8kg

Combined with the 2 pole positions and frames, total weight saved is 59.5kg. (131.2lb)

EDIT. Including track day rims, a further 20lb (9.1kg) Unsprung weight has been saved.

No I start my rice diet, looking at shedding 40lb myself... :jump:

Not a bad weight saving, more than I was thinking.
