but on the whole:
average ~7.9
throwing a few 10'th for error and atm conditions ~8.2
still better than rated (8.4) and damn close to the 8 flat average of 4 mags full out runs using all gears!

I would like to see about 5 more cars in the sampling...
also whether the cars have been cleaned...

Just did another three runs. -2 degrees, damp road, TC off, flat road, 1/2 tank of 99 V-power.
7,2
7,1
7,2
Car ran better then ever! Scared the <beep> out me when I later stepped on it in 2nd, and it went sideways :O

No, therefore these times surprised me. 1 second faster than magazines test results seems odd, but it may have to do with the cool air. Maybe I should visit my local dyno to see how it does.

Gumball - with those time, reckon you car might have a bit more poke than a normal RS4. FYI - nailing it in 2nd in mine sometimes has the TC light flicker but doesn't lose traction like you said.

If bods are getting 7 secs with standard cars then I'm a green haired seagull.
If your getting 8 secs then thats fast - the difference between 7 and 8 secs is a fast car and a very fast car.

So what are we saying here?

Aside from Gumball's car, whose history we're not sure of, and the odd "low" time which lies somewhere oustide the standard deviation, all the "cleaned" cars are substantially faster....

Even AthurPE is asking if the valves have been cleaned?

Does it, or does it not make a difference?

Or are there too many variables that are not being controlled in these tests?

It would appear at this time there are too few cars in the relevant categories, saloon vs Avant vs cab, OEM or modified (and if modified just air filter, remap, Milltek cat back / 100 / 200 cell), valves cleaned or not not to mention temperature weight with fuel etc to get an accurate picture. With the above there must be at least 200 permutations without taking into account the latter 2 that will affect timing and therefore performance.

Worthwhile collating though to see what people can do and what is achievable.

Agree we should make a new thread stating in a logical order of those mods, PAX on board etc, and collate all the times, would be worth while reading, Aurther are you taking the info from here and adding it to your data base and then will you put up the final?

So heading would be along the lines off SALOON/CAB/AVANT, YEAR, MILEAGE, LAST SERVICED, FUEL, PASSENGERS, WEIGHT OF DRIVER, ATMOSPERICS....The list could go on, but yo get the drift, Maybe even add it as a sticky.

It also shows that some ppl have been using different methods of recording times, stop clocks, digi timers and the data logger, some of these much has a -/+ factor.
