oil cooler pipes split
Re: oil cooler pipes split
My oil lines are showing corrosion, Doug emailed me a picture so I am getting him to replace mine, fingers crossed the cooler is not going to need to be replaced!
Preventative step I am hoping.

Re: oil cooler pipes split
takes an hours labour to carefully remove grind the nuts off the cooler inlets and split them, still an hrs labour is cheaper than a new cooler.

Aberdeen Audi wouldn't give me any good will gesture, no matter how much I complained. £1200 for me.

Did they wear a mask and hold you up with a flintlock pistol ?Aberdeen Audi wouldn't give me any good will gesture, no matter how much I complained. £1200 for me.
tbh if the audi tech's are unwilling to take the time to remove the nuts without damaging the cooler i would tell them to stuff it and as an independent garage to do it for you, the pipes are just shy of £300 plus an hrs labour to remove the bumper hrs labour to do the nuts and an hour to refit, so max should be £300+3hrs
£1200 is just shocking, especially when its a corrosion issue related to incorrect parts specification.
