Nice one. I've found the same that dumping the clutch just over the 4K RPM mark seems to give the best results.

Can you expand slightly on your 6K dump (ooh err missus)??. You say the rev needle just rose but no traction, is this similar to my clutch problem as per Clutch Thread?? What happened over the following few seconds??

Yes this is exactly the same problem.

Being 4 wheel drive and having 400 odd bhp when you try to dump the clutch at too higher given output something has to give (tyres, clutch engine bog or Drive shafts  ) so in the case of the RS4 its the clutch.

The clutch fails to engage properly and slips.

With mine the car failed to move, the revs rose, my eyes popped out then i opened the windows because of the sweet smell of clutch :D

When i was doing my 0-60, 0-100 sprints i was getting slip between gears just like you had when i never lifted off the gas enough.

Ta very much, at least that puts my mind to rest that it's some kind of failsafe & not the clutch actually being deposited on the tarmac.

I have noticed that it's possible to sometimes change too quickly thus the revs never drop enough to engage the gear, or as you say & we both suffered, the revs are too high however it happens & the clutch stays engaged without dropping the gear correctly.
