There's a link on forum to the cheapest price for the KW V3s I'll see if I can find it was around 1450 a set then you need to factor in the fitting of them and a 4 wheel geometry setup around 60-100 for ego not sure on how much to fit coilovers I'd ask someone like unit. 20 for a deal price to. Supply and fit or if you want to keep Drc unit 20 will see you right and no where near that joke of a price.

Aye pretty normal really, bit cheaper oil than castrol,if you wished you could half that bill by sourcing own oil for 80-90 quid and a couple of hours indie labour would be 100 notes not 260,youve not been had its just what there rates are and there mark up on regular items such as oil. These cars are now bordering on FAsh making any difference over a good indie service stamp. The savings far outweigh any minor possible shorfall in the cars value. That said i think enthusiasts would prefer a specialist history.

Right mind made up seeking Unit 20's advice.

Ouch, that's $893 here in Canada (which is close to the US dollar).
I don't do my own oil but my Audi tech (an indie) does it for £53.
I do my own brake fluid change though, which is only the cost of the fluid: £10.

Suggest you find an indie you trust. Most shops can do the brakes easily. For the oil change, the filter is unique to the RS4 so be careful.
And you want to use Audi recommended oil - I use Motul.
Good luck mate.

Mark - Mine's got a FASH and the dealer changed a leaking damper @ 44k under goodwill, but it's just turned 50k now miles so I'm thinking it's time to move to an indie (probably Unit 20 as they're nearest to me) as the mileage gets higher, the running costs increase and the dealer is unlikely to change any more dampers FOC. I change the oil/filter religiously every 5k too. Good luck.

Thank you - I'm ringing Unit 20 today to see what they advise about the suspension rods and brake hoses. Thinking whole suspension system. Unit 20 sell Bilstein suspension kit. Unit 20 is only 40 mins away from me now.

I assume braided lines are just the same but with a braided sheath: surely they will still have the perishable rubber/latex/whatever? I have heard a few times that, yes braides are good for the track but if you have a line failure they don't just bulge and degrade braking, they go pop (almost).

I have no idea what I'm talking about BTW - just querying the rationale behind promoting braided. Thoughts?

I still get mine serviced at Audi with my own oil.

Mark, your car is 6yrs+ old and 100k+ miles

FASH is not worth the premium you are paying
people talk about goodwill etc ... but at 100k miles, wear and tear will far outweight any argument for goodwill.

as lengster said, you could have exactly halved that bill, let alone what they wanted to charge you for the advisories
